Before making an appointment to the office of chief of police, the city manager shall complete a thorough background investigation of the candidate. The city manager may use advisory procedures developed by the Washington Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs in completing the background investigation. (Ord. M-2768 § 6, 1988)
