A. Contract amendments that do not change the total value of the contract may be approved in accordance with rules and regulations adopted under VMC 3.05.020.

B. Contracts not requiring approval by the city council may be amended to increase the contract amount up to a total value which would require city council approval in accordance with rules and regulations adopted under VMC 3.05.020.

C. Contracts requiring approval by the city council may be amended by the city manager or designee to increase the contract amount up to 10 percent of the initial value of the contract. Any increases above 10 percent of the initial value of the contract shall require city council approval.

D. This section does not apply to contracts for public works projects. Amendments to contracts for public works projects shall be in the form of a change order approved in accordance with rules and regulations adopted by the city manager. (Ord. M-4417 § 8, 2023; Ord. M-4173 § 7, 2016)
