A. No one desiring to maintain, operate, or conduct a public dance or public dance hall, to which the general public is either invited or may attend, shall do so without first having made an application therefore to the city clerk upon a form to be prepared by the city clerk, setting forth the name or names of the proprietor or proprietors, location of the dance or dance hall, and the name under which the same shall be operated. The premises shall be inspected by the clerk’s office or its designee and by the fire department to see that applicable codes are met. If they are, the city clerk shall, upon payment by the applicant of a quarterly license fee in the sum of fifty dollars, issue a permit for the operation of the dance or dance hall, for the balance of the current quarter or not to exceed three months at any one time.

B. Anyone desiring to conduct a single dance for one night only, to which the general public is either invited or may attend, shall pay to the city clerk of the city of Vancouver the sum of twenty-five dollars for each such dance. Inspections shall be made as to code compliance and if the premises meet such codes a permit shall be issued. (Ord. M-2887 §7, 1990: Ord. M-1140 §3, 1969: Ord. M-714 §8, 1964)
