It shall be unlawful for anyone to post bills or print or paint signs in or upon any sidewalk, curb or street; provided, this shall not prevent anyone from painting his or her house number on the curb in front of his or her house, nor shall it prevent any person or group of persons from painting or printing such house number on the curb in front of anyone’s house after having received permission from the occupant thereof. Such house number shall be painted black against a white background, in approximately three-inch high numbers, and shall be for no purpose other than for additional identification of the house. Any person or group proposing to paint house numbers on curbs shall first notify the department of public works in writing of such intention. (Ord. M-2633 §1, 1986: Ord. 759 §5, 1912)
