No person, firm, corporation or municipal corporation shall engage in or carry on any business, occupation, act or privilege for which a tax is imposed by Section 5.88.030 without first having obtained, and being the holder of, a license so to do. Each such person, firm, corporation or municipal corporation shall promptly apply to the City Clerk of Vancouver for such license upon such forms as the clerk shall prepare and provide, and the clerk, upon acceptance of such application, shall thereupon issue such license to the applicant. Such license shall be personal and nontransferable and shall be valid as long as the licensee continues in said business and complies with this chapter. (Ord. M-38 §2, 1952)
